Centering Community in SW ATL Development

Across South and West Atlanta, real estate development is rapidly happening to legacy Black neighborhoods, rather than with and for them. Residents and businesses of neighborhoods along the South and West Beltline face a significant risk of displacement. Legacy residents who have lived in these communities for years want to be involved and direct the changes taking place.

To support residents to participate and benefit from developments, Capitol View Neighborhood Association (CVNA) and The Guild, are partnering to deliver the following:

Real Estate Education & Advocacy

Help residents advocate and shape local development

Youth & Adult Leadership

Stipends, training, and resources for local youth and adults

Community-Ownership

Participants will learn about community-owned real estate in SW Atlanta

Community Asset Mapping

Participants will populate a Community Asset database

The program will begin in August 2022. Qualifying participants will be eligible for stipends on a first come first serve basis.
