Earth Day Neighborhood Cleanup

Join us for a neighborhood Earth Day cleanup followed by a community gathering with food, activities, and time to connect with neighbors hosted by CVNA and the Capitol View/Jesse Dill Community Garden

There are two ways to participate. Join us for one or both:

Start your morning helping care for the neighborhood, then head back to the garden for a relaxed, family-friendly gathering with food, activities, and time to connect with neighbors..

Cleanup (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Help us keep Capitol View looking its best! During the morning session, you can participate in:

  • Litter removal throughout the neighborhood

  • Garden beautification and maintenance

  • Garden bed repair and general upkeep

Whether you prefer walking the neighborhood or helping at the garden, there’s a way for everyone to contribute.

Supplies will be provided, including:

  • Trash and recycling bags

  • Gloves

  • Litter pickers

Community Social (12:30 pm – 2:30 pm)

After the cleanup, head back to the garden—or just come for this part!—for a casual, family-friendly gathering.

We’ll have:

  • Food and drinks

  • Games and kid-friendly activities

  • Plant giveaways (while supplies last)

  • Plant swap

It’s a great opportunity to relax, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the work we’ve done together.

See Our Voice, a photovoice exhibition

Krystle Chanel is inviting all Capitol View neighbors to her upcoming photovoice exhibition, See Our Voice, on Saturday November 1st from 12-2pm at the Oakland City MARTA station.

Many of you came out to the See Our Voice exhibit last fall at The B Complex which made it a huge success. This time, there are 7 CV residents whose photos will be displayed on the gallery walls inside the train station.

On the day, there will be a podcast listening area so you can hear the stories of legacy residents from southwest Atlanta.

The exhibit will be up for several months so please check it out even if you can't make it on the 1st.

Please come and see our voice!

Images for the exhibition being installed on the walls.
