Luminary Walk
This year, Capitol View Neighborhood Association (CVNA) is bringing a little extra glow to December’s First Friday with a short, luminary-lit walk between two houses to kick off the holiday season together on Friday, December 5th, at 6 pm.
We hope you’ll come out, enjoy the lights, and celebrate the season with your Capitol View community! Both stops will have light drinks and refreshments provided, but, as always, we welcome and encourage neighbors to bring potluck-style contributions if you’re able.

See Our Voice, a photovoice exhibition
Krystle Chanel is inviting all Capitol View neighbors to her upcoming photovoice exhibition, See Our Voice, on Saturday November 1st from 12-2pm at the Oakland City MARTA station.
Many of you came out to the See Our Voice exhibit last fall at The B Complex which made it a huge success. This time, there are 7 CV residents whose photos will be displayed on the gallery walls inside the train station.
On the day, there will be a podcast listening area so you can hear the stories of legacy residents from southwest Atlanta.
The exhibit will be up for several months so please check it out even if you can't make it on the 1st.
Please come and see our voice!

Halloween
Celebrate Halloween with your neighbors with an event for the whole family.
Here’s the Capitol View Treat Map. Get candy at the homes marked with a pumpkin. The homes marked with a witch have candy and you can vote for them in the decoration contest.
Trick or Treat along your favorite streets, decide which home has the best decorations, then meet up at the corner of Genessee and DeSoto between 6pm and 9pm so the kids can fill their bags with candy and adults can enjoy beverages.
If you are decorating your home and/or handing out candy, please sign up to be added to the trick or treat map: Halloween 2025!

This section of DeSoto will be closed to pass thru traffic for the event to make it safe for everyone to gather.
